2023 OHSAA Division I Football - Regions 1-4
• Schools with male enrollment of 620 and more
• Four regions: 18 schools in region 1; 17 schools each in regions 2 and 3; 19 schools in region 4
• Region Process:
Regions are redrawn annually based on the number of teams that were eligible for the previous year’s OHSAA Football Tournament, and including those that have indicated participation in this year’s tournament. Once the number of teams is known, “pins” representing each school in that division are added to a map. Counties are no longer kept together since “clusters” of schools make that impossible. Schools may be spread out to keep a similar number of schools as possible in each region.
*Updated 9/11/23 - Normandy moved from DII to DI. With the closure of Parma High School, Bylaw 2-1-4 was applied to the remaining high schools within Parma City School District. Division assignments for Normandy High School and Valley Forge High School were based upon the actual number of boys enrolled in grades 10, 11 and 12 as of September 10 of the current year in accordance with the business rules, plus the real-time Adjusted Enrollment Count (outlined in Bylaw 2-2-1).
