The religious divide in Northern Ireland's schools

This interactive map was compiled by The Detail using data provided by the Department of Education and taken from the annual Northern Ireland school census. The figures apply to pupils attending each school in the 2011/12 academic year. Some numbers have been suppressed due to potential identification of individual pupils. Fewer than five pupils is denoted by <5 and ≥5 stands for a figure more than or equal to five. The ‘other’ category includes other Christian, non-Christian and no religion or religion unknown. Zoom in and click on the coloured markers to see the religious make up of schools in your area. Or click on one of the four coloured pins above to view data for only one school sector. The department lists some schools under postal town in its online database.
