NI Census: Stated Religion

This map was compiled by The Detail using data from 2001 household survey and the new results from the 2011 Census. The map shows stated religion - broken down by council area. We mapped the data using the address of each council's headquarters. Overall in Northern Ireland in 2011, 40.7% of people described themselves as Catholic, 19% Protestant, 13.7% Church of Ireland, 3% Methodist, 5.8% other Christian, 0.8% other religion and 16.9% no religion or none stated.
