School is out. But NYC’s children still need breakfast and lunch.
Over the summer months, the Food Bank For New York City works with the NYC Department of Education to make sure that all children who rely on free or reduced-cost school meals do not have to worry about where their next meal will come from.
To make up for the loss of school meals, the city’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP, or Summer Meals) provides breakfast and lunch to all children age 18 and under at sites citywide, including members of the Food Bank’s food assistance network.
